Who is a hero or heroine in your personal life?
A woman named Pili Dressel that my mother worked with. She was the first “cool” adult I met: she had tattoos of goddesses, a tarantula in her office, had a cool girlfriend, and liked “Xena: Warrior Princess”. As a kid I saw her, this punky adult who had a successful life and career, and simply thought “Whoah, you can do that with your life?” So I did.
Who is an historical figure that you would have loved to have met?
Wally Wood, an American comic artist who drew some of the greatest sci-fi comics ever inked! I would’ve liked to talk him out of blowing his brains out all over his drawing desk.
What is one of your favorite things to do?
I enjoy fishing and hunting. Most artist are very indoors-oriented and it makes them the most boring individuals on the planet, having hobbies that get me outside helps me keep my sanity and gives me lots of stories to talk about instead of what television shows I watch.
What’s one thing that most people don’t know about you?
That I collect tin lunch boxes and Mr. Potato-Heads.
What’s your favorite place in the world?
Montana, it’s big, beautiful, and has lots of wilderness to explore.
What do you do to relieve stress?
Go to the comic book store, it’s only a little related to work!
What is your favorite book?
Snow Crash by Neal Stephenson
